After School Dance Program for 1st-3rd Grades
  • Arise & Shine is a dance class offered at First Presbyterian Day School on Monday afternoons from 3:00pm-4:00pm that aims to teach students 1st through 3rd grades basic dance fundamentals as well as prepare them for future dance experience. Led by Miss Anna Grace Brister, an FPDS alum, former competitive dancer and Attaché Show Choir member, as well as current MC dance team captain, each class begins with a devotion and prayer time. Afterwards, dancers will learn stretches and exercises to increase strength, flexibility, and stamina. In addition, dancers will work on choreography for multiple dance styles to learn routines and gain muscle memory. Each dancer will need to invest in a pair of jazz shoes for practices. Later in the year, participants will need to purchase 2 costumes for the end of the year showcase. Arise and Shine dancers will perform three dance routines they have learned throughout the year in our spring showcase. If you have further questions, please contact Miss Anna Grace at (601) 966-6121.
