    • Committee Descriptions: 
    • Annual Conference Committee:

      The Annual Conference Committee is charged with planning the Annual Conference held the first Thursday and Friday in December. This conference is a forum for professional development for Council members.

    • College Day/Night Fairs Committee

      Organize and facilitate the Day/Night Fairs in Colorado. This committee is in need of counselors and college admissions professionals from both Denver and outside the metro area.

    • Counselor of the Month/Year Committee

      CCHS/CR and the Colorado Department of Higher Education have formed a partnership to recognize outstanding high school counselors around the state. Counselors may be nominated by visiting the CCHS/CR website at www.coloradocouncil.org.

    • Elections & Recognition Committee

      The purpose of this committee is twofold: first, to identify members of Colorado Council who have contributed so much to our profession and organization and should be recognized for their contributions; second, to identify candidates for open positions on the CCHS/CR Executive Board and create a ballot of candidates.

    • Financial Aid Committee

      This committee assists in updating information for the CCHS/CR resource guide for financial aid and COF information.

    • Counselor Workshop Committee

      This committee plans a series of Counselor Workshops each Fall. They coordinate so that workshops are offered geographically across the state of Colorado to reach as many counselors as possible. These workshops are to provide a forum for issues and concerns of the membership and to provide an update to attendees from member colleges and universities.

    • Handbook Revision Committee

      This committee annually reviews the Council Handbook and collects information and updates from each Colorado institution that is represented in the Handbook. Every summer a new Handbook is published and provided to each member of the Council and sold to interested parties. The Handbook is sold at reasonable cost, making it available to students and families of all income levels. It contains current information about higher education costs, financial aid, scholarships, educational programs, admissions standards, and other features of each Colorado college and university that is a Council member.

    • Membership Committee

      This committee reviews applications for new memberships and makes recommendations to the Executive committee for acceptance. The chair is responsible to send out membership renewal notices each year.

    • Professional Development Committee

      This committee works to provide Professional Development opportunities to the members of the CCH/CR which include high school counselors and college admission representatives. They produce the Colorado Connections Resource Guide for high school counselors and college admission representatives. Make presentations at each Fall Workshop and the Annual Conference Pre-Conference Workshops called Nuts and Bolts, and put on the KOO Workshops.

    • Communications/Social Media Committee

      The Communications/Social Media committee is committed to spreading the good word about Colorado Council and our endeavors as well as expanding our membership base. The committee also offers support to Council Committees.

    • Scholarship Committee

      The Scholarships committee selects scholarship recipients that demonstrate a commitment to service. The Scholarship Committee is responsible for developing the application forms, publicizing the opportunity and facilitating the selection process.

    • Technology Committee

      The technology committee is tasked to keep Council apprised of technology needs and to help assist with the communication back and forth with the Council’s website’s webmaster to ensure that the website is operational and efficient.
