Responsible to: The Directors and Leaders. When the L.I.T. is in the midst of working with the kids in the program, he/she will be expected to take direction from and assist the Directors and the leaders.

  • This exciting program exists for the purpose of encouraging the L.I.Ts to:

    1) Grow in one's personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

    2) Discover and develop one's gifts: ex: drama, music, arts, speaking, etc.

    3) Develop leadership capabilities.

    6) Set personal goals and achieve them.

    7) Evaluate their progress and areas of improvement*

*There will be a mid-summer and end-of-summer LIT evaluation done by the LIT Director. It is important for LITs to be able to evaluate their own work and to be honest with how they are doing and how they can be improving.

    Assisting within a Small Group:

To work with and assist a Small Group Leader in giving leadership and care for a group of campers and for all campers in general.

An L.I.T.'s involvement within a small group setting allows our Camp to offer a great LIT/Staff to camper ratio.

This improves the overall safety and nurturing of our campers while providing opportunity for the L.I.T's to develop leadership skills.

    The L.I.T's responsibilities would be:

    • To be familiar with the Leader's job description
    • Assisting the Leader in all of his/her responsibilities when needed
    • To listen for instruction, always being ready to learn
    • To actively assist the Leader in preparing, planning and implementing any program related work
    • To be fully responsible for your camper group if the Leader has to be away for some reason, eg: disciplining a camper
    • To be prepared to lead a Bible Study or group activity (at the discretion of the Director and Leader)
    • To fulfill their scheduled time for extended care hours in the morning and after camp and provide a safe environment for the campers.
