Autistics for Safe Food is an autistic-led initiative addressing the barriers many individuals face when accessing traditional food pantries and programs. What began as a response to ARFID (Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder) and food insecuirty crisis has grown into a broader commitment to inclusive food advocacy—supporting those with sensory needs, allergies, religious and cultural food practices, and other dietary restrictions often overlooked in mainstream systems. This program empowers autistic people not as recipients of care, but as leaders, problem solvers, and community builders—creating food access solutions rooted in lived experience, dignity, and mutual aid.
