  • Scholarship Memberships for Local Families Displaced by Hurricane Helene

  • These scholarships are reserved for residents of Watauga, Ashe, or Avery who will be displaced from their home for more than a week by Hurricane Helene.

    If you do not fit this criteria, but purchasing a membership would be hardship for you due to low-income, and you live in Watauga, Ashe, Avery, Wilkes, or Caldwell counties, you are invited to apply for a regular scholarship membership here: https://app.joinit.com/o/the-childrens-playhouse/7GQteuESqDyaEdqDT.

    The information provided in this form will only be used internally to process your membership and will not be reported with your identifying information to any outside party.

  • Playhouse Notice and Release 

    As parent, guardian, or caregiver to the children I bring to The Children’s Playhouse, I do hereby release The Children’s Playhouse and its staff from any and all liability for injury, illness, or any other condition of my child(ren) that may occur while at The Children’s Playhouse, during participation in any activities or programs of The Children’s Playhouse, or as a direct or indirect result of participation in any activities or programs of The Children’s Playhouse, and waive my right to pursue legal action against The Children’s Playhouse or its staff or volunteers in connection with any such, injury, illness or condition.

    I understand that
    *child(ren) must be accompanied by an adult at all times while at The Children’s Playhouse. Playhouse staff members are not responsible for supervising children. 

    *The Children’s Playhouse provides resources and activities designed for children from birth through eight years of age and that there may be activities that are not age appropriate or developmentally appropriate for my child(ren)’s participation. In addition, some activities may not be appropriate for my child(ren) because of a physical, medical, or other condition of my child(ren). 

    *parents/caregivers are responsible for monitoring the activities of their child(ren) while at The Children’s Playhouse and choosing activities that are appropriate for their child(ren).

    *parents/caregivers are responsible for teaching their children to be aware of other families using the space and to treat everyone with kindness and courtesy.

    *The Children’s Playhouse also reserves the right to limit my child(ren)’s participation in an activity based on safety issues or other program-related concerns.

    *parents/caregivers are responsible for monitoring their parties' health and not attending if anyone in their group is actively ill or has had fever or diarrhea or vomiting within the past 24 hours or have been exposed to COVID-19 or other highly contagious illnesses.

    *no firearms of any kind are permitted within the Playhouse building or on the grounds including the outside play areas, gardens, and parking lot.

  • Playhouse Photo Policy

    Photography and video recordings from The Children’s Playhouse help us convey the value and excitement of the Playhouse experience. We use photos to show funders and to enhance the quality of our print materials, newsletters, the Playhouse website, social media, and for publicity and general fundraising. We do not use pictures with faces in conjunction with scholarship fundraising without the parent's additional explicit, written consent.

     
    The Playhouse Photo policy asks parents or guardians to agree with the following release statement. If the parents/guardians do not agree, it is their responsibility to request and wear a "No Photo" sticker and/or tell anyone they see taking pictures that they do not want they or their children's pictures taken. 


    "As the parent or guardian of the children attending The Children’s Playhouse, I grant permission to the The Children’s Playhouse to photograph, tape, film, or make an audio recording of myself and/or my child(ren)’s participation at The Children’s Playhouse or in Playhouse sponsored events. I grant The Children’s Playhouse an irrevocable license to reproduce, copy, display, perform, or otherwise use these materials. I understand that these materials will be used for the purpose of public information and/or education and/or marketing of The Children’s Playhouse and may appear in newspapers, magazines, exhibits, The Children’s Playhouse publications, on The Children’s Playhouse website, social media, or on television. I agree that my child(ren) may be identified as a participant in the event being recorded. I  release The Children’s Playhouse, its employees, directors, and agents from any liability connected with the publication, reproduction, release, or other use of these materials, and agree not to bring any claims against them growing out of such publication release, reproduction, or other use of these materials.  Photography and video recordings from The Children’s Playhouse help us convey the value and excitement of the Playhouse experience. Your picture will not be used in conjunction with scholarship fundraising without your additional explicit, written consent."
