ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY:
ALL ARE WELCOME: All first-time, new, emerging and professional artists, ages 16 and up, are welcome to apply with this no-fee Call for Art application.
How is music an inspiration, the subject matter of, or the motivator during your creative process?
Music is quite literally the soundtrack of our lives. It’s part of our celebrations, our heartbreaks, workouts, it’s playing overhead at the grocery store and the airport, on our phones, in our cars, all over social media, on our turntables, it makes movies and social media videos better, it’s a universal language, it enhances our experiences in cafés and restaurants, it’s exciting, fun, life-changing and mental health improving, and for artists, it’s often playing a role their art-making process.
All out-of-the-box creativity is encouraged!
· How does music relate to our five senses: sight, smell, taste, hearing, and touch?
· How has music changed your life?
· What would the world be like without music?
· What music experiences make you say “WOW!”
· What’s it like to be in the audience at a performance, or on stage?
· What role does music play in your mental health?
· Is there a difference between noise and sound?
· What is your emotional response to music?
· What music do you listen to while making your art?
· Is music portrayed in the artwork, is it abstract, or was it a pivotal part of your creative process but isn't personified in the subject matter of your art?

ALL MEDIA 2D AND 3D: We’re looking for artwork in all two-dimensional and three-dimensional forms for our upcoming exhibit in the City Arts Center.
All types of reactions to the above and beyond, both representational and abstract, 2D or 3D, are welcome. All artwork styles and media are welcome too, including, but certainly not limited to: graphic design, reimagined album covers or imaginary concert posters, t-shirt art, mixed media, Manga, sculpture, jewelry, sculpture, fiber art, painting, pottery, illustration, manga, song lyrics and written music, photography, ceramics, and insert your style, art form, or medium here and please apply to this Call for Art!
NO FEE TO APPLY: There is no fee to apply for our City Arts Center Call for Art, however if your art sells during the exhibition, we will deduct a 20% commission. More artist guidelines in the below Artist Agreement.
