ACPE enthusiastically invites former members of the American Association of Pastoral Counselors (AAPC) to apply for ACPE membership. We look forward to learning from each other and strengthening the quality and breadth of the services our members are equipped to offer to their communities. We hope you consider joining us in this rich and meaningful shared work.
Please consider applying to one of the membership categories outlined below:
ACPE Practitioner Membership
is open to individuals who were previously Regular Members of AAPC. This includes all former Certified Pastoral Counselors, Pastoral Counselors in Training, and Retired Members who still practice on a part-time basis. Practitioner members are required to pay an annual membership fee of $100.00.
ACPE Psychotherapist Membership
is open to individuals who attained either Fellow or Diplomate status through AAPC. Retired Fellow and Diplomate members who continue to practice on a part-time basis are eligible for this membership category. Psychotherapist members are required to pay an annual membership fee of $200.00.
The Psychotherapy Commission will define future eligibility requirements for Psychotherapist membership. At this time, the category is exclusively open to AAPC Fellows and Diplomates.
ACPE Retired Professional Membership
is open to individuals who were members in good standing with AAPC and are fully retired. Retired Professional Members do not pay membership fees but have full access to member benefits.
ACPE Student Membership
is open to AAPC student members and to individuals who are currently enrolled in an advanced theology or mental health-related degree program or who are actively enrolled in a CPE unit. ACPE Student members are required to pay an annual membership fee of $60.00.
