Student clubs, groups, and organizations seeking a Campus Charter must petition for such. Charters are applicable only for the duration of the current academic year. Petitioning, therefore, is an annual process.

You may wish to gather information in advance to complete this form. Information to prepare includes:
- The full Constitution for your organization saved in PDF format
- Your organization's purpose statement (you may copy from your Constitution)
- The name and email address of all organization leadership
- The name, email, and position of your Advisor
- You will need to have read the Student Organization Handbook in whole prior to completing this form.

Student Experiences Requirements
I understand that Parliament attendance is required by the organization President. Parliament is sponsored by the Student Government Association and occurs monthly. If the President cannot attend, it is their responsibility to send a proxy. Parliament is a time to hear announcements, network with other organizations, and receive information and professional development opportunities. Lack of attendance at Parliament is cause for loss of charter.*

Non-Hazing Policy: We certify that all activities sponsored or required by our organization of members or pledge/associate members comply with the Carson-Newman University Non-Hazing Policy as included with this contract, as well as such printed in the Eagle Handbook and Student Experiences resources such as the Hazing Policy Form, Student Organization Advisor Handbook, the Student Experiences Guide, and with Tennessee Law. We have informed the members and pledge/associate members of our organization of the contents of the Carson-Newman University Non-Hazing Policy. This policy will be read to our members and associate members on a semester basis. We understand that failure to uphold the Carson-Newman University Non-Hazing Policy will result in an organizational disciplinary hearing and/or individual disciplinary hearing(s). Individuals within an organization, as well as the organization itself, may be held responsible for violations and may receive sanctions and/or disciplinary action. We understand that participation in any hazing activity or having knowledge of hazing and taking no action to the activity, is in effect, giving approval. Our signatures below certify that we have read, understand, and agree to abide by the Carson-Newman University Non-Hazing Policy.*

CARSON-NEWMAN UNIVERSITY ALCOHOL AND DRUGS POLICY: Carson-Newman University is an alcohol and drug-free community. A violation of alcohol or drug laws while enrolled at the university will subject the student (or student organization) to disciplinary action by the university. In addition, the university prohibits the possession, use, distribution or manufacture of alcohol or of illicit drugs and drug paraphernalia, and the misuse or abuse of prescription medications, over-the-counter drugs, and synthetic drugs on its property or as a part of any of its activities, including but not limited to off-campus activities sponsored by the university or engaged in by any recognized student organization. Any student (or student organization) who violates the university’s policy is subject to the university’s disciplinary sanctions and to applicable criminal penalties.*
