At City of Birmingham Rockets Basketball Club, we are thrilled to be part of a performance-level partnership with Birmingham Metropolitan College.

This collaboration will offer student-athletes the opportunity to carry on playing basketball along their studies, with students able to choose from a variety of A-level or BTEC courses.

Some players will also have the opportunity to be selected to complete the Diploma in Sporting Excellence (DiSE) as part of the Rockets Academy. This elite qualification is worth an additional 64 UCAS points with our academy the only elite academy in the West Midlands qualified to offer this diploma.

Additionally, student-athletes at the BMet College Rockets Basketball Academy will have the opportunity to compete in a range of prestigious leagues and tournaments, including:

1. Elite Basketball Academy League (EABL): Our academy teams will compete in the EABL, showcasing their skills against top junior basketball talent from across the UK. This league provides a high level of competition and serves as a platform for players to catch the eye of college and university scouts.

2. Association of Colleges (AOC) & Under 17 Boys England School: As part of the AOC, our academy teams will participate in the Under 17 Boys England School competitions. These tournaments offer valuable experience and exposure to the competitive landscape of college & school basketball in England.

3. British Division 3 Men's: We are currently exploring opportunities for our academy players to compete in National Basketball League (NBL) Division 3, facing off against teams from various clubs and institutions. This division provides a challenging yet rewarding environment for players to test their skills and continue their development.

4. European Youth Basketball League (EYBL): For those seeking international competition, our academy is also exploring the possibility of participating in the European Youth Basketball League (EYBL). This prestigious league brings together talented youth teams from across Europe, offering our players the chance to compete at an elite level on the international stage.

Competing in these esteemed leagues and tournaments not only enhances our student-athletes competitive experience but also fosters personal growth, teamwork, and sportsmanship.

We are committed to providing our players with diverse opportunities to excel both on and off the court, and we believe that participating in these competitions will play a crucial role in their overall development as basketball players and individuals.
