Volunteer of Excellence Nomination Application
The Volunteer of Excellence Award recognizes volunteers who have contributed outstanding service while partnering directly with girls in any pathway to implement the Girl Scout Leadership Experience or who have contributed outstanding service in support of the council’s mission-delivery to girl and adult members. Nominations are accepted year-round and are reviewed by the committee on a rolling basis.
Award Requirements
The candidate is an active, registered adult Girl Scout.
The candidate abides by GSUSA and Girl Scouts River Valleys’ policies, standards and procedures.
The candidate has completed at least one full year of service in the nominated position or chaired a committee or team that completed the planning and implementation of at least one significant local event.
The candidate has performed beyond expectations for the position to deliver the Girl Scout Leadership Experience to girls using the national portfolio, or
The candidate’s performance has been beyond the expectations of the position and has supported the council’s mission-delivery goals in one or more of the following areas: membership development/community cultivation, volunteer relations and support, program, leadership and governance, fund development or council support services
The candidate actively recognizes, understands, and practices the values of inclusive behavior.
Nomination Instructions
Complete the nomination application at any time. You will be asked to provide the date the award is needed. The nominations will be reviewed
within 30 days of the date indicated on the application.
Note that if the candidate is approved for an award, they will receive a copy of the endorsement questionnaire responses.
