Our History

At the Florida Statewide Democratic Party Convention in 1981, a decision was made to unite Black Democrats throughout the State. That later resulted in the organization of the Democratic Black Caucus of Florida. In 2021, a chapter was established in St. Johns County. The Black Caucus does not exclude members based on race, ethnicity, gender or religion. All registered Democrats who support the Caucus mission and initiatives are welcome to join.
Mission Statement

We stand to ignite social, economic, and political empowerment, support leaders who fight for justice in St. Johns County, and drive fearless advocacy and outreach for every Black voice, every generation, every corner of our community.
