  • ABOUT TUNING IN

  • Tuning In is a mindfulness-based music therapy program developed and facilitated by Augusta Symphony's Community Chords Music Therapy. Its goal is to increase participants' stress management skills through education, experiential self-care, and discussion/reflection.

Community sessions are open to the public and are held at the Knox Music Institute at the Miller Theater in downtown Augusta.

Tuning In's community sessions are free thanks to grants from local and national organizations.

In Fall 2025, Tuning In will be held on Tuesday evenings from 5:30PM - 6:15PM at the Knox Music Institute at the Miller Theater. Below select the Tuning In sessions for which you would like to register. Please thoughtfully consider your schedule and your commitment to come to sessions in your registration.
  • Seating

We will have several options for seating at our sessions. There are 10 zero-gravity chairs available and they are filled on a first come, first served basis on the night of the session. The facilitator will reserve one or two of these chairs for anyone who may need accommodations. Straight back chairs and yoga mats are also available. You are welcome to bring your mats and/or blankets as needed.
  • INFORMED CONSENT

    • Practices and experientials are invitations to pay attention and increase awareness so some participants may become more aware of emotional, mental or physical patterns or qualities that have long been overlooked.
    • Feelings of sadness, anxiety, anger, or fear may seem stronger at the beginning, especially given the uncertainty in the world in this time.
    • During mindful movement practices, it is important to honor the limits of our bodies and to only move in ways that are physically safe for each individual.
    • Benefits of participating in this program may include an increased sense of well-being, improved sleep, better self-care, less reactivity, and more.
  • Share the love!

Tuning In is currently funded by a grant; however, we would like to make Tuning In sustainable. We have adpoted to a donation-based/pay-what-you-can model. Please consider donating using the link below to donate now!
