  • CCAC NC3 Train the Teacher

    Join BotsIQ, CCAC, NC3 and Festo for this FREE Train-the-Trainer event.  This training will provide you with the knowledge and resources needed to effectively deliver these NC3 courses to your students:

    • Introduction to Mechatronics
    • Fundamentals of Electricity
    • Fundamentals of Robotics

    Event details: 

    Where: Community College of Allegheny County Allegheny Campus (808 Ridge Avenue, Pittsburgh PA 15212)

    When: August 11th - 15th (Teachers MUST attend all five days)

    August 11th - 14th - 8AM - 5PM

    August 15th - 8AM - 3PM

    Equipment: Please bring your own laptop.

    Attire: Please dress business casual.  School shirts are recommended.  Closed-toe shoes are required.

    Meals: Lunch will be provided onsite by NC3 each day of the training

  • Battery Making Workshop

    This hands-on, advanced workshop is designed specifically for teams participating in BotsIQ’s combat robotics program. Because of the technical skill required—including soldering individual cells to create a custom battery pack—this session is not recommended for new teams.

    Each school will learn to make one battery pack for their combat robot.  All materials will be provided at no cost.

    Attendance Requirements: 

    Space is limited.  Each school is required to bring at least two students and one educator.  A maximum of 2 teachers and 4 students is permitted.

    This session is for educators only. Learn the fundamentals of Fusion 360 and parametric modeling. A laptop with Fusion 360 installed in advance is required (free to download and use).

  • Electronics Training Workshop with Bill Fiedler

    This workshop is specific for teams participating in BotsIQ's combat robotics program.  Each school is permitted to register up to 2 teachers and 4 students.  This training introduces newer students and teams to the basics of soldering and wiring drive and weapon systems for combat robots. Weapon motors, drive motors, and ESCs will be provided (1 set per school). Please note: batteries and controllers are not included. If teams would like to use this system for their own bot, they should bring their own compatible controller to bind.

    Space is limited to 8 schools.

  • RoboRecharge Training

    This hands-on training will prepare educators to lead student teams through the RoboRecharge program. Participants will review the RoboRecharge challenge, required documentation and expectations for the Final Pitch Competition.

    The session explores how RoboRecharge integrates robotics, entrepreneurship, teamwork, and real-world problem solving, while highlighting available BotsIQ equipment, classroom resources, and ongoing support. Educators will leave with a clear understanding of how to implement RoboRecharge and confidently support students through both the technical and business components of the program, regardless of prior experience.
