Know Your Rights and Protest Training
This event is all ages. No cops or prosecutors. No parameters otherwise. The event will include a presentation by attorney Jaelyn Miller on what rights you have when it comes to interacting with police. The presentation will also cover common legal liabilities protestors may face and the rights protestors have when protesting. Emancipate NC is an organization that is dedicated to ending mass incarceration and systemic racism in NC.

Parking: free street parking on weekends; paid lots & garages nearby as well (504 W & 309 Hillsborough / 501 W Jones); one accessible spot on our block (corner of N West & Hillsborough streets). Public Transit: 1 to 2 blocks from stops 9479, 1703, & 9570. Entrance: ground level, double doors, loading zone immediately out front as well; space is wheelchair accessible with no stairs, steps, or ledges. Restrooms: two non-gendered bathrooms on site. one has two toilet stalls and the other has one stall and one urinal; each restroom has one wheelchair accessible stall with support bars. The Hub is a sober space.
