Landscape Position
Different plants thrive in different parts of the landscape. Some prefer lower, moister areas, while others are better suited to slopes or higher, drier ground. Choosing the right species for the right position gives your planting the best chance of success.
Please select the landscape position that best describes your planting site so we can help match you with suitable species.
RIDGES – dry forest on poor shallower soils, upper slopes & rocky ridges
SLOPES – grassy woodland & forest on better soils and mid to lower slopes & flats
RIPARIAN – damp sites including streambanks, dams & damp areas on flats
Last Fertiliser Application
Most of our native plants are naturally adapted to low-nutrient Australian soils and can be quite sensitive to phosphorus. They establish best, and are much more likely to flower, set seed and support ongoing natural regeneration, in soils with low phosphorus levels.
For the best results, we encourage planting on sites that haven’t had a recent history of fertiliser application, particularly superphosphate. Choosing lower-phosphorus areas gives your plants the strongest start and helps set the scene for healthy, self-sustaining revegetation over time.
