    • Kids Ministry Assistant 
    • Kids Ministry Assistant Job Description

      20-25 hours/week

      Cottage Hill Kids exists to partner with parents to help kids know, love, and follow Jesus.

       

      Position Overview

      The Kids Ministry Assistant will assist the Kids Ministry Director in helping to plan and implement Cottage Hill Kids ministries and events for birth through fourth grade. The successful candidate will provide administrative, logistical, technical, and creative assistance to the Kids Ministry Director. This position will be 20-25 hours per week.

      Job Responsibilities and Duties

      • Help to create a safe, positive, nurturing, and age-appropriate learning environment for each child.
      • Assist in planning & prepping curriculum.
      • Assist in planning seasonal events and programs.
      • Assist in volunteer management and scheduling.
      • Assist in ordering, organizing, and maintaining resources and equipment.
      • Use various software and technology for planning, organizing, and maintaining records and data.
      • Perform other duties as assigned by the Kids Ministry Director.

       Basic Qualifications & Expectations

      • Demonstrate a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a passion for children.
      • Work well with parents, volunteers, church staff, and children.
      • Work on Sunday mornings, Wednesday evenings, and at special events as needed.
      • Have knowledge, familiarity, and experience with computers, Microsoft Office, and Canva, as well as the ability to learn new technologies.

      Position Overview

      The Kids Ministry Intern will gain invaluable hands-on experience in ministry while providing support to the Kids Ministry Director in planning and leading Cottage Hill Kids programming, activities, and events. The successful candidate will provide leadership and support in the areas of teaching, leading worship, organizing and preparing resources, and performing administrative tasks. This is a paid position that will require around 10 hours/week.

      Position Overview

      The Cottage Hill Kids Special Needs Ministry creates a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment where every child can learn about God’s love at their own pace. This role focuses on partnering with families to support children with special needs.

      Time Commitment

      • Sunday Mornings from 8:45 a.m. to noon, with some Sundays off
      • Wednesday evenings from 5:45-8:00 p.m. (during the school year only)

      Job Responsibilities and Duties

      • Assist in leading a small class using adapted Bible lessons, activities, and routines.
      • Provide individualized support to help each child participate and feel included.
      • Collaborate with parents and ministry leaders to understand each child’s needs.
      • Maintain a calm, structured, and sensory-friendly environment.
      • Ensure safety, check-in procedures, and communication protocols are followed.

      Position Overview

      The Childcare Worker provides a safe, clean, and nurturing environment as they care for babies, toddlers, and/or preschoolers during church services, ministry events, and/or other scheduled programs.

      Schedule/Shift Options

      • Sundays 8:45 a.m.-10:30 a.m.
      • Sundays 8:45 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
      • Wednesdays 6:15 p.m. -7:45 p.m. (during the school year)
      • More hours available for special events

      Job Responsibilities and Duties

      • Welcome children and families in a warm, friendly, and professional manner.
      • Provide attentive, loving, and age-appropriate care for babies, toddlers, and/or preschoolers.
      • Ensure the safety and well-being of every child by following all church safety, security, and check-in/check-out procedures.
      • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized nursery/classroom.
      • Monitor children during play and respond appropriately to their individual needs.
      • Assist with setting up and putting away supplies, toys, and equipment.
      • Attend required training and meetings.
      • Perform other Kids Ministry-related duties as assigned by the Kids Ministry staff.

      Basic Qualifications & Expectations

      • Has experience in childcare.
      • Demonstrates a genuine love for young children and enjoys caring for babies, toddlers, and preschoolers.
      • Supports the mission, values, and beliefs of the church.
      • Is dependable, punctual, and able to work assigned shifts consistently.
      • Maintains a positive, friendly, and servant-hearted attitude.
      • Exercises sound judgment and remains calm in emergency or stressful situations.
      • Communicates effectively with parents, volunteers, and church staff.
      • Maintains confidentiality regarding children and families.
      • Is physically able to lift and carry infants and toddlers, sit on the floor, bend, kneel, and move throughout the nursery as needed.
      • Successfully completes the church's background check and Safety Training before working with children.
      • Follows all church childcare policies, safety procedures, and health guidelines.
