In 1997, an art contest was held and two new murals which honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and his teachings were created for an overpass sign on N. New Braunfels. Now, over 25 years later, the artwork is faded and needs attention. Councilman Jalen McKee-Rodriguez is holding an art contest to create two new artworks, one artwork for each side of the overpass sign. The selected artworks will be printed on aluminum and installed on the overpass sign.
