  • TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

    Unless otherwise stated in show terms & conditions; Show entrants scratching, for any reason, after 6:00 PM Wednesday the week of the show are responsible to pay cattle and office fees. Show entrants scratching, for any reason, after 6:00 PM Thursday the week of the show are responsible to pay all entry fees. Add-backs and points from entries scratched after 6:00 PM Thursday will be included in the payout and point calculations. These fees must be paid prior to the next show date or they will not be considered a member in good standing. When a competitor fails to show without notice to the show management - all fees will be charged and payable prior to the next show date.

  • Waiver of Liability

    I, the undersigned, hereby acknowledge that my participation in activities organized by the Alberta Reined Cow Horse Association (the “ARCHA”) involves inherent risk of injury and other hazards, including but not limited to those associated with horse riding, handling, and equestrian events. In consideration of being allowed to participate in ARCHA events, I agree to the following terms and conditions.

    Assumption of Risks: I understand and accept that engaging in horse-related activities can be dangerous and unpredictable and I voluntarily assume and accept all risks, known and unknown, associated with my participation in ARCHA events, which may occur through or by reason of any matter, thing or condition, negligence or default, of any person during my involvement in ARCHA events. These risks may include, but are not limited to, loss or injury to myself, my property, or to any other person or the property of any other person.

    Release and Waiver: I hereby release, waive, and discharge the ARCHA, its officers, directors, members, volunteers, employees, agents, sponsors, and any other individuals or entities associated with the ARCHA (the “Released Parties") from any and all liability, claims, demands, actions or causes of action, of any kind or nature whatsoever, whether now known or ascertained or which may hereafter develop or accrue in favour of myself, my heirs, representatives or dependants, arising out of or related to any injury, loss, or damage that may be sustained by me or to any property belonging to me, whether caused by the negligence of the Released Parties or otherwise.

    Indemnification: I agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Released Parties from and against any and all claims, suits, demands, actions, liabilities, costs, and expenses, including but not limited to legal fees, arising out of or in connection with my participation in ARCHA events.

    Medical Treatment: In the event of any injury or illness that I, or any animal belonging to me, may sustain during participation in ARCHA events, I authorize the ARCHA to obtain medical treatment on my behalf or on behalf of my animal(s) if deemed necessary. I understand that the ARCHA does not assume responsibility for the cost of any medical treatment that may be required for me or any animal belonging to me.

    Rules and Regulations: I agree to comply with the rules of ARCHA as set forth in the annual ARCHA Rule Book (accessed here) and to thoroughly review the Rule Book any time a new edition is published. I understand that failure to adhere to ARCHA rules may result in the immediate termination of my ARCHA membership without refund. I further agree to ensure the welfare of any horse I show and to treat any horse I show humanely and with compassion. I will refrain from any activity or action that discredits the sport of Cow Horse or the ARCHA.

    Governing Law: This Waiver of Liability and my membership in the ARCHA shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Alberta.

    I have read this Waiver of Liability carefully, understand its contents, and voluntarily sign it, intending to be legally bound by its terms.

  • ARCHA RELEASE OF INFORMATION POLICY

    The ARCHA at the discretion of the Board of Directors, may release its membership list, upon request, to sponsors, related government agencies, service providers such as photographers, and others involved in similar equine activities.  The list will not be released or sold to retail third party for profit groups.  If you have objections to the above policy, please contact the ARCHA office and ask to have your name removed from the membership list.

    Please note that photos and/or videos may be taken at all ARCHA shows and/or organized clinics and may be used for promotional use.  This includes but is not limited to, social media, website, print ads, etc.   Please advise the ARCHA office if you would prefer not to be photographed in this manner

  • ARCHA Non Pro Declaration

    A new declaration must be submitted every show year.
  • This form must be received in the ARCHA office 10 days prior to entering applicant's first ARCHA Non Pro Class.  In the case of youth, the legal guardian must complete the declaration.  Please carefully read and answer the following statements, as well as read and sign the Non Pro Code of Conduct and Ethics below.

    If the following statements are not answered or it is not signed, your declaration will not be accepted and will be returned to your for completion.  Non Pro status is extended on a temporary basis and is subject to revocation pending approval by the Non Pro Committee.  Non Pro status will be null and void if it is determined that you do not qualify under ARCHA Non Pro conditions, as designed in the ARCHA rulebook.

    I, the undersigned, agree to act with the utmost integrity while participating in the sport of Cow Horse and ARCHA events. I understand and acknowledge that an ARCHA Non Pro eligibility is a privilege and not a right, and that I may be required to submit information for review of my membership at any time. Furthermore, I understand that so long as I am eligible for Non Pro, it is my responsibility to be aware of and abide by the Non Pro conditions set forth in the ARCHA rulebook (accessed here).

     By signing this agreement, I specifically agree to:

    o Thoroughly review and be bound by the rules of the ARCHA as set forth in the annual ARCHA Rule Book (accessed here) and to thoroughly review the Rule Book any time a new edition is published;

    o Abide by the show conditions set forth at all ARCHA approved shows;

    o Act with honesty and transparency when purchasing horses as well as competing at ARCHA events;

    o Ensure the welfare of any horse I show and treat any horse I show humanely and with compassion;

    o Represent the ARCHA by refraining from any activity or action that discredits the sport or the ARCHA; and

    o Accept any and all decisions set forth by the ARCHA board of directors.
