Crimson Exotics Reptile Rescue is looking for fosters in the following states: New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, California, and Texas. Applicants from those locations will be prioritized, but all applications are welcome.
Welcome! We're so excited that you're interested in joining the Crimson Exotics Reptile Rescue Foundation team as a foster home. Before applying, here’s some information you need to know.
Crimson Exotics Reptile Rescue Foundation (DBA Crimson Exotics and Crimson Exotics Reptile Rescue) is a foster-based reptile rescue group. We have been taking in and finding homes for reptiles and amphibians since 2019, and we have decided to expand our team. We are currently accepting applications for Crimson Exotics foster volunteers.
If you want to become a foster for Crimson Exotics, here's what you need to know:
- Crimson Exotics fosters are fully responsible for the animals in their care.
- You will provide enclosures, food, water, and all other necessities to properly care for the animal as long as it is in your home.
- Crimson Exotics fosters are financially independent. Since Crimson Exotics is a nonprofit organization, you pay to care for the animals that you are fostering, including vet bills. (As a nonprofit organization, your foster-related expenses may be tax deductible. Please discuss this with your tax advisor.)
- To help with the cost of fostering, fosters receive the adoption fee after the animal is adopted. This often covers the cost of caring for the animal, but not always. (A small administrative fee to cover our costs, including that of payment processing, may be deducted from the adoption fee.)
- Crimson Exotics facilitates all aspects of shipping reptiles. We arrange ship dates with fosters & adopters, send you the shipping supplies, and coordinate the shipment. We make shipping as simple as possible.
- Fosters may choose which animals to accept or decline.
- Fostering for Crimson Exotics is a very rewarding experience. It is also a large commitment because caring for animals is a large responsibility.
- Submission of an application does not guarantee acceptance. Many people apply to join our team.
Fosters must have access to:
- Proper enclosures, food, water, lighting, heat, and other supplies to care for animals that they agree to foster.
- Funds to pay for the care of the animal, including veterinary expenses if necessary.
- A printer with colored ink to print the shipping label and related documents.
- Other various supplies that may be necessary to properly care for fosters.
