Cruzan Satos Dog Rescue Adoption Application

Cruzan Satos Rescue is a foster based rescue, and 100% volunteer based. We are a small rescue based out of St. Croix USVI with two of our largest foster hubs in Pittsburgh, PA and Jacksonville, FL.

Our mission is to help the stray dog population on the island of St. Croix. We are a positive, professional foster-based rescue dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating stray and unwanted dogs. Our goal is to keep dogs out of the shelter environment and on to being rehabilitated in a foster home until they are ready for their forever homes.

Our adoption fees reflect both medical and travel cost for each puppy. The total adoption fee for puppies younger than 6 months is $415

All of our dogs come fixed, vaccinated, microchipped, treated for parasites, flea/tick meds.

This questionnaire is designed to help Cruzan Satos Rescue and yourself determine if a specific dog is the right one for you and your household. All adopting parties are required to complete this form prior to adoption. Cruzan Satos Rescue reserves the right to deny any adoption based on answers to this questionnaire and/or interviews prior to adoptions!

If approved, our adoption coordinator will follow up with you within 1-3 business days after summiting the application for a facetime home visit.

We fly all our puppies to the states in our own rescue puppy bags, if you are approved to adopt do you agree to send your bag back within 7 days after adoption?

I agree that if I were to give up my adopted dog I would only return them to Cruzan Satos Rescue and would not be refunded the adoption fee after ONE week.

Terms of agreement:

We reserve the right to deny anyone to adopt a dog/puppy without explanation. Even if I am applying for a certain dog, I understand that dogs are adopted to the best match and not first come, first served. My application may still be approved but may be better suited to another dog. During the seven (7) day period from the date of adoption, We may refund the adoption fee for a returned animal. In no case will we refund other expenses incurred on behalf of the animal. All adopted animals from our rescue MUST be returned to us ONLY please.

BY SUBMITTING THIS APPLICATION, YOU AGREE THAT THE ADDITION OF A FAMILY PET IS AN IMPORTANT DECISION. YOU HAVE THOUGHT THROUGH POSSIBLE CHANGES THAT MAY OCCUR IN YOUR LIFE, AND FEEL YOU WOULD STILL BE WILLING AND ABLE TO CARE FOR THIS PET SHOULD THEY OCCUR. YOU AGREE THAT IF FOR ANY REASON YOU CAN NO LONGER CARE FOR THIS PET, YOU WILL WITHOUT FAIL CONTACT CRUZAN SATOS RESCUE. WE DO FOLLOW UP WITH ADOPTERS TO CHECK ON THE WELL-BEING OF THE PET, AND RESERVES THE RIGHT TO REVOKE THE ADOPTION IF WE FIND SPECIFIC CONDITIONS ARE NOT BEING MET. TERMS WILL VARY FROM PET TO PET, AND WILL BE OUTLINED ON THE ADOPTION CONTRACT.

Upon receipt of this application, an Adoption Coordinator will check your references, including your current vet, and then get back to you about scheduling a facetime home check. All potential adopters are required to have a facetime home check in order to be approved to adopt.

They will also tell you how to get in touch with the current foster of the dog/puppy who would be a good match for your home. Your application will be processed as quickly as possible, but please understand we are staffed by volunteers and it may take a few days.
