This program is a unique and exclusive overseas experience. To ensure that participants are fully prepared for the program read the following terms and conditions.
This program requires a good general level of health, fitness and endurance.
Upon acceptance onto the program Conservation Volunteers requires a non-refundable deposit of $1000 by Wednesday 29th January 2020.
Final payment of $4500 due Wednesdya 08th April 2020.
If it becomes necessary to cancel your booking, notify us immediately. Your cancellation is effective from the date we receive your notification, and is subject to cancellation fees as follows:
- If cancellation takes place more than 60 days prior to your start date, your $1000 non-refundable deposit will be forfeited.
- If cancellation takes place between 60 days and 30 days prior to the start date, 50% of the total cost of your booking will be forfeited.
- If cancellation takes place less than 30 days before your start date, 100% of the total cost of your booking will be forfeited.
Food, travel and accommodation will not be provided outside the specific program dates and details as provided in the program itinerary. Conservation Volunteers and the host agency take all care in program planning but no responsibility will be accepted for any variation due to circumstances beyond their control. Conservation Volunteers requires all volunteers to act responsibly for their own safety and that of others. This program involves physical activity and may take place in extreme weather conditions and/or remote locations.
In the event of a delay, cancellation or change of itinerary, Conservation Volunteers reserves the right to cancel any program prior to departure. Conservation Volunteers is not responsible for any costs resulting from such cancellation (including, but not limited to, visa, passport and vaccination charges, gear purchases, airport or airline fares or charges).
DECLARATION BY PARTICIPANT
I declare that I have read and understood the Terms and Conditions that will apply to my placement on the California Exchange program.
I acknowledge that I am responsible for:
- Travel to the departure point (Melbourne)
- holding a current passport that will remain current 6 months after my arrival;
- obtaining any necessary visas and costs associated with visa requirements;
- providing my own travel and medical insurance covering the activities and duration of this program
- obtaining any vaccinations required for the program and
- Expenses during free time.
I have declared:
- any pre existing injuries and allergies to Conservation Volunteers in the California Exchange Program application and am in good health and fitness to engage in the program.
I acknowledge and agree:
- I shall not be paid to participate in the program - I am a volunteer and not an employee of Conservation Volunteers.
- to abide by the rules and requirements of Conservation Volunteers, the host agency and the Program Leaders. I realise that failure to do so may result in me being asked to leave the program, in which case I will not be eligible for a refund.
I understand:
- that in the event I wish to leave prior to the completion of the program I will be responsible for meeting all costs associated with leaving early. Conservation Volunteers requires all participants to act responsibly for their own safety and that of others.
