Recitals
At Dance tHerAPPY, we are excited to share what they have learned with our families, peers, and the larger community all season. Dance tHerAPPY does not require participation in annual dance recitals. However, it is strongly encouraged and considered an important part of the overall learning experience. Publicly sharing creative expression highlights a dancer’s training and a goal they strive for and look forward to. It will help build self-esteem and self-confidence and give dancers a chance to showcase their hard work, dedication, and progress. Dance tHerAPPY students, regardless of skill level, are invited to perform in the annual recital(s).
This season, we are entering into a “Season of Faith.” The 2024 Spring Recital allows dancers to display what they have learned and worked so hard on over the year. Visit www.dancetherappy.com to stay updated on the latest 2024 recital dates and ticket purchase information.
Costume purchase
Each costume, once paid in full out of students’ recital fees, will become the property of the dancer. If dancers drop a dance class(es) after their costume(s) has been ordered, they may pick up their costume(s) at the studio any time after that year's dance recital has taken place.
Dress Code
Students should be properly dressed for each class they attend, including the proper dance shoes. All students, regardless of which classes they are taking, are required to wear appropriate dance attire. Dancers are limited and cannot fully participate when they do not have proper dancewear. Shorts, tights, leotards, leggings, fitted tank tops, t-shirts, or jazz pants may be worn.
Dance tHerAPPY takes great care and consideration for each student’s safety. With dance, like any other form of physical activity, the risk of injury is always possible. By viewing this document, the parent/legal guardian acknowledges this risk and does not hold Dance tHerAPPY responsible for any injuries or occurrences. The parent/legal guardian is responsible for discussing any medical/health issues or any past injuries with the instructor or at the time of registration.
Class Start and End Times
All classes will begin and end on time. Parents are responsible for ensuring that their dancers arrive at class on time and must be there to pick them up as soon as class is over. Dance tHerAPPY staff are not responsible for children left unattended before or after dance class.
Attendance
Regular attendance is encouraged to ensure optimal growth of both individual dancers and the class. Attendance is particularly important once dance recital practices begin so each dancer doesn't get behind, but also because other class members rely on your dancer for his/her role in the routine.
Weather-Related Closings
In the case of inclement winter weather, Dance tHerAPPY will cancel classes if local schools are not holding classes and activities. If bad weather arrives during the day and parents are unsure about class status, they can check the Dance tHerAPPY Facebook and Instagram page, which will always be updated by 2:30 p.m. If we are forced to close due to inclement weather, we will try to make up classes. Please know that inclement weather is out of control.
Appropriate Classroom Behavior
Dancers are expected to always respect their dance teacher and classmates. Dance tHerAPPY staff reserve the right to excuse from class children who refuse to cooperate. In such a case, the student’s parent will be notified and asked to pick up their child immediately.
Policy and Procedure Changes
Dance tHerAPPY reserves the right to change the policies and procedures at any time. Notice of changes will be given on the monthly calendar.
