Helping Hands (the local arm of the Salvation Army) currently provides support to in excess of 250 families in the Commodore Perry and Lakeview School Districts. These are families who are struggling to meet even their basic needs. For them, Christmas gift giving will likely be out of the question. This year, as we have for the past several, we (as a church congregation) have offered to anonymously “adopt” some of the children of those families for the purpose of providing Christmas gifts for them during this Christmas season. As you plan your Christmas gift giving, won’t you consider blessing one of these children by purchasing a gift for him/her? Once you’ve selected a name(s) and submitted the form, you will receive information as to that child’s needs and interests by email. There is no specified price range for the gifts--that is in the discretion of the giver. All gifts must be returned to the plastic tub in the church lobby on or before December 8th.
