Trooper Diane Butler, Retired U.S. Army Chief Warrant Officer, brings over three
decades of leadership, service, and steadfast commitment to excellence. A dedicated lifetime member of the 9 th and 10 th (Horse) Cavalry Association, she has served with distinction for six years as Assistant Secretary, exemplifying the qualities of a servant leader who is passionate about preserving the values and history of Buffalo Soldiers.
In 2022, Trooper Butler founded the Palmetto Chapter Buffalo Soldiers in Columbia
South Carolina. Under her leadership, the chapter was officially established on February 11, 2022, and chartered on July 28, 2022, with an initial cohort of 30 charter members.
Her exceptional efforts in recruitment and community engagement have created a solid foundation for a vibrant and growing chapter within the Southeast Region. Through her vision and outreach, the Palmetto Chapter has expanded its influence across five additional cities within South Carolina and launched a collaborative partnership with the Richland County Recreation Commission, further strengthening the chapter’s presence and impact across the state.
Trooper Butler is deeply committed to the mission of the 9 th and 10 th (Horse) Cavalry Association. Her proven leadership, integrity, and enthusiasm uniquely position her to serve effectively as Assistant 2 nd Vice President. She is prepared to help guide the Association’s continued growth, foster unity and expand its legacy through active leadership and strategic partnerships.
