PLEASE REVIEW THIS GUIDANCE CAREFULLY BEFORE COMPLETING YOUR REQUEST.
This request is utilized to seek CEA-Horticultural approval for all forms of continuing education (CE) for Master Gardeners as well as public education and outreach programs supported by the Denton County Master Gardener Association (DCMGA). Given all such programs are to be science and research-based, this request will seek the required approval to address the following areas:
· Educational Content (examples include educational articles published in The Root, online DCMGA website, and educational hand-outs and materials provided to master gardeners and members of the public).
· Internal and External Presentations, Educational and Demonstration Booths (examples includes Speakers Bureau presentations, Ask a Master Gardener, and other educational/informational booths at public events).
A wide variety of available resources are available to support your presentations and educational writings. Printed educational materials such as those identified below are allowable (and this list continues to expand). Certainly, other sources are available to you yet may require additional time for review and approval.
· Texas A&M, AgriLife publications, Texas A&M AgriLife Research and Extension centers research and presentations may be used with the caveat that soils and microclimates differ.
· Any publication written by an AgriLife CEA
· Any publication, presentation, YouTube, etc. created within a MGA that has been approved by its CEA (I am identifying other MGA processes now so we will know what counties have CEA/Coordinator approval. So more on this later).
· U. S. and Texas Forestry organizations, including those connected to Texas A&M University (.edu) beyond A&M that engage in horticulture and research
· Government sources (.gov) e.g.,U.S. Dept. of Agriculture, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
· Aggie Horticulture
· Master Naturalist publications
· Upper Trinity Water District and its various subsidiary activities
· Texas Master Gardener Association and State-level Master Gardener Associations beyond Texas.
· Native Plant Society of Texas (NSPOT)
· Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center
· Botanical Research Institute – Fort Worth
· Bush Presidential Library Native Texas Park
· Dallas Arboretum
· Growing a Greener World – PBS and You Tube
· Aggie Horticulture Facebook
· Skip Richter’s YouTube
REVIEW AND CONSIDERATION PROCESS
After completing the JotForm in its entirety, your submission will automatically be forwarded to the CEA-Hort for review and consideration. You will automatically also receive a copy of your submission, which also serves as your confirmation of receipt.
· The CEA-Hort seeks to review these requests within 5 business days, contingent upon volume of requests and the scope of the educational content.
· After the review is completed, the CEA-Hort may:
o Approve your request, or
o Request additional information, or
o Deny your request.
You will receive another Jotform email with the CEA-Hort's decision on your request.
In cases where additional information or a denial has been decided, you will receive a separate email explaining the decision or what additional information must be provided.
