A total of 35 service points is required in order to apply for Silver Leaf status. A total of 100 service points is required in order to apply for Gold Leaf status. The tracking form below details the types of service that qualify for points and the number of points earned. Service points are earned at the completion of the term of service. Members can begin acquiring points as soon as they join POC. All points accrued for Silver Leaf status will also count towards Gold Leaf status. Members are responsible for tracking their own points, which may be validated by the relevant body at the request of the board.
1. Duties included in a board, executive, or volunteer job description do not qualify for additional service points.
2. Those who hold more than one volunteer position may earn service points for each.
3. In order to qualify for points, all national committees, sub‐committees and task forces must have defined terms of reference and be approved in advance by the national board.
4. In order to qualify for points, all chapter committees and tasks forces must have defined terms of reference and be approved in advance by the director of chapters.
5. Only the following chapter executive positions qualify to earn points: chair, vice‐chair, treasurer, secretary, membership, marketing, and program. Any other positions must be approved in advance by the director of chapters.
Conference moderators and runners/greeters can earn a maximum of 2 points per conference, even if involved in multiple sessions.
Those serving on the national board or a chapter executive for a minimum of six months but less than one full year, qualify for half of the applicable points for the 2nd portfolio.
National board members who have been assigned more than one portfolio for a minimum of six months qualify for half of the applicable points.
In order to earn points for participating in a chapter trade show, the chapter must contribute to the cost of the booth and POC must be promoted through inclusion of a banner and/or availability of printed materials.
In order to earn points for members in the media, the member will need to provide proof for where they have mentioned POC and/or mentioned POC website. All submissions will be subject to approval and will require the submission of URLs and links.
Any member who has completed volunteer work not listed here, that they feel is deserving of points, may submit the information to the director of membership for review by the board and determination of points merited.
