• Intelligent Order Routing Implementation Questionnaire

  • The goal of this document is to facilitate the implementation of the Intelligent Order Routing app by implementation teams. A series of questions highlights general use cases and the setup fields that must be configured for each. Setup questions are categorized in the following topics/areas:

    • General Configuration: includes settings related to the handling of released orders and the crossing of borders.
    • Routing Orders: includes questions that guide the creation of routing rules.

    Example:

    1. A Released status in an order indicates that the document has been released to the next stage of processing, and you can't make changes to lines of type Item and Fixed Asset. Orders are usually released after they have been reviewed and approved by an individual. Should orders with a Released status be routed?

    (Yes/No)

Remember to complete the application Onboarding Wizard. This wizard is designed to avoid common issues caused by missing permissions or due to missing registration details.

The Intelligent Order Routing application selects the best location to fulfill orders (referred to as routing) based on a set of rules specified by the user (filters applied to the Customer, Items, Sales Header fields, and Sales Line fields in each order). Before the application can evaluate those rules to route orders, general settings must be implemented to determine the general behavior of the application, including what orders must be skipped (if any), how to handle orders that have been reviewed, or whether goods can cross borders.
    • 1. Do you want to route orders for which a fulfillment location has not been selected?*
    • 2. A Released status in an order indicates that the document has been released to the next stage of processing, and you can't make changes to lines of type Item and Fixed Asset. Orders are usually released after they have been reviewed and approved by an individual. Should orders with a Released status be routed?*
    • 3. Should a prompt or notification be made when Released orders are routed?*
    • 4. Would you like to prevent the routing of orders to locations that don’t have enough inventory available to fulfill them?*
    • 5. If this is the case, it is necessary to determine an inventory calculation method: On-hand inventory or Incoming Inventory.*
    • 6. When routing orders, do you want to allow items to cross borders (i.e., a sale to be delivered in Canada is routed to a fulfillment center located in the United States)? *
    • 7. If this is the case (Q6), should a prompt or notification be shown when the routing of an order requires goods to cross a border?"*
    • Routing Orders
    • The application uses “rules” to specify the criteria that is used to route orders. This section includes questions that guide the creation of such rules. Note that one or many rules can be created to route orders. Each rule is assigned a unique level of priority that determines the order in which it will be applied (first, second, third…last).

To create a rule, go to the Intelligent Order Routing page > New. The following questions guide the creation of each rule:

    • Upload Files
      Drag and drop files here
      Choose a file
      Cancelof
    • 9. Is the objective of this rule to exclude orders from being routed?*
    • 12. Orders are “routed” by updating one of the following fields: Location, Agent, and/or Shipping Agent. What is the field that you would like to update using this rule?*
    • 14. Do you want to include incoming inventory (Released Purchase Qty) to determine inventory availability when this rule is applied? *
    • Should be Empty:
