SCHOLARSHIP DETAILS
The Dallas Metroplex Council of Black Alumni Associations (DMCBAA) and the Robinson House Foundation are awarding the DFW HBCU Alumni Heritage Scholarship. This one-time scholarship will be awarded to numerous students from the Dallas/Ft. Worth metroplex attending a Historically Black College and University (HBCU).
All scholarships will be paid upon proof of enrollment at an accredited HBCU.
ELIGIBILITY
- Students reside in the Dallas/Ft. Worth metroplex (permanent residence in 75XXX or76XXX zip code)
- Must be a U. S. citizen
- Currently attending or will be attending an accredited HBCU
- Has a minimum 2.7 cumulative GPA or higher on a 4.0 scale
- Application and all required documentation submitted by 11:59 pm on July 19, 2025.
APPLICATION PACKAGE
- Completed application form
- Official college transcript (MUST include the school’s seal) or High School transcript if 1st-semester Freshman
- One recommendation letter (Letter must be from a counselor, teacher, or mentor. Letter cannot be from a relative.)
- 500-word essay. The essay topic required is based on the applicant's classification:
- 1st Semester Freshman - “Why I chose to attend a Historically Black College and University.”
- Sophomore - “Why receiving financial assistance is critical for my college education.”
- Junior - “How I would help raise funds for future students to attend HBCUs.”
- Senior - “How I would assist this organization in continuing its mission of Increasing enrollment at HBCUs.”
