Microblading treatment performed by Dorigen Bell
  • This form is designed to give details regarding the treatment of Microblading, so that an informed decision can be made on whether or not to undergo the procedure. Microblading is the process of inserting pigment into the dermal layer of the skin and is a form of tattooing. It is a semi-permanent makeup treatment that is a two step process and will require two appointments to complete in order to maximise pigment retention and the final result. You must be at least 18 years old to be tattooed or receive a semi-permanent make up treatment in the UK, I will not tattoo anyone under the age of 18.

During the treatment, cross contamination guidelines are strictly adhered to. Brand new, high quality disposable tools are used for each client and any instruments that enter the skin, or come into contact with bodily fluids, are disposed of after use.

Initially the colour of the brows will appear much more vibrant or darker compared with the end result. Usually within 7-10 days the colour will fade 40-50%, soften and look more natural. The pigment used is semi-permanent therefore will fade over time. It is likely the brows will need to be touched up within 6 months (oily skin type) to 2 years (normal-dry skin types). Different factors will affect pigment retention. For those with less natural hair or oily skin types, manual shading may be recommended alongside the microblading treatment to create a fuller look and encourage better pigment retention.

If you have any questions regarding the treatment of Microblading, please do not hesitate to ask.

  • Possible risks, hazards &  complications

    • Mild pain. This treatment is a form of tattooing and therefore is not a painless procedure. Topical numbing agent can be used during the treatment by your artist however there is a possibility of pain or discomfort after the topical numbing agent has been used.
    • Infection. While rare, there is the risk of infection.  The areas treated must be kept clean and only touched with freshly cleaned hands. Please see your aftercare sheet for instructions.
    • Uneven pigmentation. This can result from poor healing, infection, bleeding or many other causes. Your follow up appointment will likely correct any uneven appearance.
    • Asymmetry. Every effort will be made to avoid asymmetry but our faces are not symmetrical so adjustments may be needed during the follow up session to correct any unevenness.
    • Excessive swelling or bruising. Some people bruise and swell more than others. The bruising and swelling typically disappear within 1-3 days. Many people don't bruise or swell at all.

Allergic reaction: there is a possibility of an allergic reaction to the pigments or other materials used. You may take a 24 hour patch test before your appointment to determine this.

  • Thank you for your interest in getting microblading done by me! Please upload photos of your eyes and eyebrows below, taken in bright natural lighting if possible. It can be helpful to get someone else to take the photos for you so that they can get a clear angle. If you wear makeup on your brows please include photos both with and without makeup on. You are welcome to crop photos if you feel uncomfortable sending a full face photo but images must be clear.
