  • My Commitment to You

    What a Doula Does Do

    • Assist you in labor to help you achieve a safe and satisfying birth, as you define it.
    • Draw on my knowledge and experience to provide emotional, informational, and physical support. (Physical support is not available virtually)
    • Provide ideas & techniques to make your labor more comfortable and efficient.
    • When requested, I will keep you informed of all procedures, their risks, benefits, and alternatives, so you can make an informed decision regarding your care.
    • Provide reassurance and perspective.
    • I will enhance your partners ability to be your primary support person, and help them participate at a level that makes them feel comfortable.
    • Work for you! I am self-employed and hired by you. 

  • What a Doula Does NOT Do

    • Take the place of the partner.
    • Perform clinical tasks such as blood pressure checks, fetal heart checks, vaginal exams, etc...
    • Act in an adversarial way with other members of the birth team.
    • Make decisions for you.
    • I will help you get the information necessary to make informed decisions, and remind you if there is a departure from your birth plan.
    • Speak to the staff on your behalf, regarding matters where decisions are being made.
    • Guarantee a particular outcome.

  • Doula Services & Obligations 

    • To meet with you & your partner regularly to go over your individual preferences and practice for the birth. 
    • I will familiarize myself with your birth plan, wishes, & goals.
    • I will be on call 24 hours per day, beginning after I receive your retainer fee. I am accessible to you via cell at 716-207-4449 My ringer is on 24/7, text ringer is off after hours. If it's urgent, don't text, CALL!
    • In the event I am unable to be available to you, I will arrange for you to have a back up doula. 
    • I am available for telephone consultations or video conferences between 9am-9pm. 
    • I will join you (in person or virtually) in labor, at your request. This support extends through labor, birth, and about 1 hour postpartum.
    • I will maintain basic birth charting for my records.
    • I will continue to offer virtual or physical support during your first 6 weeks postpartum. 
    • If you are receiving in person support, I reserve the right to call in a back up Doula after I've provided you with 12 hours of continuous labor support.
    • I will rejoin you after a brief respite. 
    • In the event you schedule a cesarean birth, I will work closely with you to maximize a gentle experience.

  • Client's Obligations

    • Book appointments regularly, as outlined in your package. This is fully your responsibility!
    • To be honest with me regarding your history & expectations for this birth.
    • To communicate with your care provider that you've hired a doula & discuss your birth plan with them. 
    • To make decisions based on evidence versus fear & heresay.
    • To call me when labor begins so I can be ready to support you, and to stay in contact with me throughout. If I am providing in person support, please allow a 2 hour window for me to arrive.

     

  • Doula Package $1,000

    • 2 Prenatal video chats (between 32-36 weeks)
    • Monthly chats (after appointments, as needed)
    • Birth planning
    • 24/7 on call
    • 1 postpartum private home visits or video chat (within 6 weeks of birth)
    • Unlimited availability via text (for 6 weeks after birth)

  • Terms of Service
    Package price is a flat rate. There are no refunds or discounts if you choose not to use, or are unable to use anything included in the package. There are no refunds or discounts in the event you have a shorter labor, just as there are no extra charges for a longer labor.

    For in person services: In the event I fail to attend your birth and fail to arrange back up doula care, you will be eligible to have half of your total fee returned to you. Refunds will not be given if you fail to call me, for fast labors, bad weather, for a cesarean (scheduled or unplanned), because you are unhappy with the birth outcome, or if a parent test's positive for COVID during labor in which I will not be able to attend the birth, etc...

         and select Friends & Family when completing the transaction

    Once the amount is paid in full I will send a link for you to begin scheduling your video chats / phone calls with me.
