    I'm Drew Carrick, known in the accounting & finance world as "The Rapping CPA" (my stage name is "Petty Ca$h") and yes, I am actually a licensed and active CPA. Beyond this pseudo persona, I'm an actor, speaker, digital creator, philosopher, innovator, entrepreneur, writer, producer, strategist, marketer, and overall entertainer. 

    If you want the summary of all the above, you can just say I'm a "jack-of-all-trades", or the fancy name I like to use which is "multipotentialite".

    For the last 10+ years, I've been paving a unique lane made up of a variety of experiences through truly one-of-a-kind job roles, side hustles, and hobbies.

    I know what you're thinking: "uhm, that doesn't really make much sense, and I don't know how to interpret that or what that looks like..."

    Don't worry -- I'm used to being misunderstood or having a confusing, unconventional life... fortunately, that's made me pretty good at explaining it, especially through examples and analogies.

  • The whole CPA thing might trick you, but I'm actually at this point much more of a 'generalist innovator' since my last time in a traditional accounting function was 2018.

    Since then, I've developed a proprietory information system for managing employee task workloads, managed a $500M enterprise budget, built an online self-study learning platform, produced a multi-million dollar comedy show, created and acted in a variety of digital content that's accumulated tens of millions of views, spoken at participated in countless thought leadership events, wrote and have been featured in a handful of publications, recorded a music album, and hosted a podcast, of course.

    So yeah, I do A LOT, in many different industries and professions... but the lane which has most often called on me to help use my expertise, talents, and skills, has been the one that craves a blend of accounting, fintech, content, and marketing. And that is where we'll focus this story.

  • It started with the "Public Accounting Anthem" back in 2015, and since that point, I've discovered a niche marketing expertise where the accounting and fintech industries intersect with the content and entertainment spaces.

    By no means has any of this been easy, but my collective experiences in marketing to the accounting demographic and creating content for the profession has provided me with more insights than I'd like to admit.

    After overseeing the spend of $10M+ over 10+ years to create, produce, and promote this genre of content, I've done all the learning and experimentation so that you can give yourself the best chance for success.

  • When it comes to content, every piece is different. Short form and long form can have different levels of production, editing, and associated costs. Different consulting roles can be more or less time intensive, warranting a spectrum of rates. The impact, value-add, and organization scale also are factors. As such, pricing is represented in approximate ranges, but is inherently adjustable and customizable for the project or engagement.

    Content productions have costs associated with them (actors, locations, props, travel, wardrobe, editors, videographers, etc...) and as such, organizations should be prepared to have content resources budgeted in addition to the service engagement cost, depending on the type of project, production, and engagement. By client request, engagement proposals can be all inclusive of production costs, wherein the service rate is a component of the entire project.

  • SPEAKER, INTERVIEWEE, & PANELIST ENGAGEMENTS

    • Speaking Session: $1,000-$3,000 
    • Interview Session: $500-$1,000
    • Panel Session: $350-$500

    ACTING/HOSTING, WRITING, & PRODUCING ENGAGEMENTS

    • Flat Day Rate: $600-$1,000*
    • Full Productions: varies, ~10% production budget fee

    *to be customized for virtual partial day talent services

    CONTENT CREATION & MARKETING STRATEGY ENGAGEMENTS

    • Consulting Retainer: $1,000-$5,000/month
    • Hourly Consulting: $350
    • UGC (Company Posting): $350 min. + production costs
    • UGC (Self-Posting, Must Be Boosted): $500 min. + production costs
    • One-time Strategy Campaign Plan: $10,000-$20,000

    EVENT ATMOSPHERE, NETWORKING, & EMCEE ENGAGEMENTS

    • Emcee: $1,500/half day, $2,500/full day
      • $500 per performance
      • $1,000-$3,000 set up fee
    • Event Mingling/Atmosphere: $500/half day, $1,000/full day
    • Meet & Greets, Dinners/Attendence: $350/hour

    Amounts listed exclude travel costs for flights, ubers, mileage, hotel accomodations, and daily meals per diem of $75. Not applicable to virtual events.

  • Note: I acted in and produced all of these content pieces, however, these are not exclusive services. I am available to doing just one or the other, or neither, and just taking on an advisory or writers room role.

    Additionally, these content pieces are just meant to represent the deliverable output of a production, as well as a representation of outcomes from a content strategy and marketing plan.
