NASA offers a variety of programs and license types, please read the descriptions below to understand which license you wish to apply for. A NASA License IS NOT required to run in any HPDE Groups.
NASA Competition License - Drivers wishing to compete in one of the several wheel-to-wheel racing classes can apply for a NASA Competition License. Demonstrating competence in NASA’s HPDE program, successful completion of competition school, and passing a written test on NASA’s Club Codes and Regulations is required to obtain a competition license.
NASA Time Trial License - Drivers who rise up through NASA’s HDPE program and wish to compete for the fastest lap time can apply for a Time Trial License.
NASA TREC License (Team Racing Endurance Challenge) - After successfully completing (4) TREC events you can apply for TREC license. Completing (6) TREC events with your TREC license establishes a path to a NASA Competition License. Anyone that has driven in five (5) or more endurance races (within the past three years) outside NASA, may apply for a TREC competition license
NASA Instructor License - An instructor’s license allows you to teach the fundamentals to incoming HPDE students. A NASA instructor’s license brings with it the responsibility for safely teaching the fundamentals of high-performance driving to novices in a way that makes it fun.
