Art Washburn Make a Difference Award

Art Washburn was a proud Deep Run parent and community leader who lived his life serving others. He dedicated his time and talents toward various nonprofit organizations whose causes he was passionate about - one being the Athletic Boosters at Deep Run High School. He never stopped working to make the world a better place and encouraged others to give of themselves. This $1,000 award will be given to a student athlete who best displays Art's qualities and commitment to making a difference. The student must demonstrate a consistent passion of service through their commitment toward their chosen volunteer/nonprofit organization by dedication of their time, talents, effort and unselfish sacrifice to make a difference for others. Please note the student must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher and must be a 4-year student athlete, having participated in at least 1 sport (minimum) each year of their high school career.
