Scholarship Description and Details:
In honor of the late Kayla Ross Perry, the Board of Directors (BOD) of the Kayla Ross Perry Memorial Foundation (KRPMF) invites you to apply for the scholarship for young adults living with epilepsy; or young adults pursuing Creative Arts and are attending college for the 2021-2022 school year.
All submissions will be reviewed by the KRPMF BOD. The winner will be notified by email and it will be announced on social media by August 27, 2021. The winning application will recieve $1000.00 towards college tuition/expenses.
Scholarship Rules:
To be eligible:
a. You must live in the DC, MD or VA area
b. You must be a freshman enrolled in a two year or four
year accredited college or university
c. You must have at least a 2.0 GPA
d. You must be a graduating senior(2021) from a high school located in the DC, MD or VA area.
Application must include the following:
a. Completed Student Application
b. Write a Short Essay by answering the question: In 500 words(double spaced) or less describe how you plan to educate your college classmates and college community on Epilepsy and how you would reduce their fears and prejudice
c. Attach a List of School/Community Activities
d. Attach an official High School Transcript
e. Copy of the Applicant's College Acceptant Letter
f. Proof of Enrollment (award letter;registration,official class schedule)
If you are living with Epilepsy,include a
g. Physician Letter of Attestion indicating Epilepsy or seizure disorder diagnosis.
If you are pursuing Creative Arts,include a
h. Letter from your college/university that indicates your major course of study.
