It also gives you a sense of what matters to us in any board candidate. The goal of our process is to determine if we are a good fit for each other – your level of commitment and ability to deliver on our expectations - so that we are confident that you can help us to increase the scope and impact of our work. On the other side, we want to know what motivates you and what you think about our organization so that we can help to create an excellent board experience for you.     ISDD’s Board is an exciting and engaged working board. Board members commit to the following:

    • Serve for a three-year term
    • Participate in 6 board Meetings per year (currently via video conference) with a maximum of 1 absence a year
    • Attend at least 75% of assigned committee meetings, which occur outside of regular board meetings (currently via video conference)
    • Be timely and present at every meeting, including reviewing meeting materials in advance. 
    • Participate in fundraising and development activities
    • Make a personally significant and meaningful annual gift to ISDD. The annual minimum give/get requirements are: 
      • 1st year - $100 individual contribution + $400 give-get ($500 total)
      • 2nd year - $100 individual contribution + $500 give-get ($600 total)
      • 3rd year - $100 individual contribution + $600 give-get ($700 total)
