    • Nelson Family Vocational Scholarship 
    • On February 1, 2010, the Nelson Family Vocational Scholarship was established.  The Nelson Family Vocational Scholarship will be administered by the Princeton Public Schools Foundation. The scholarship is intended to honor the Richard L. Nelson Family. Appropriate publicity and a certificate of award will enhance the nature of the scholarship as the scholarship winners are selected.  The Nelson Family would prefer that the proceeds be invested at Heartland Bank and Trust Company.The terms and conditions of said scholarship are listed below:

      1. Graduating Princeton High School seniors will be eligible for the scholarship.  
      2. The scholarship is intended for students who plan to further their education in vocational studies, e.g. technology, construction, drafting, welding or the trades. 
      3. The scholarship committee will be made up of members from the Princeton Public Schools Foundation and one representative from Nelson Enterprises. This committee shall render their decision as to the name of the scholarship winner by June of each calendar year.
      4. The amount of the scholarship will be $2,000.  The scholarship is for one year only.
      5. The scholarship committee, in selecting the scholarship winner, will consider these criteria in the following order:
        1. Financial Need
        2. Academic Standing
        3. Future Contribution to the Community
      6. The scholarship committee has the right to increase the amount of this scholarship and/or the number of scholarship awards given in any one year. However, it is intended that only one scholarship be given, and in only very special circumstances would more than one award be given. 
    • PPSF IVCC Tuition Assistance Award 
    • PPSF will award $750 for 4 consecutive semesters, totaling $3000 towards an Associate’s degree or Certificate program at Illinois Valley Community College. This scholarship will be awarded to all applicants who meet requirements.


      Application Criteria:

      1. Graduating Princeton High School senior
      2. Minimum 3.0 GPA after the 8th semester
      3. No unexcused absences or school suspensions during enrollment at PHS
      4. Participate in at least one extracurricular activity during each year of high school
      5. Have completed community hours prior to application
    • PPSF Healthcare Scholarship 
    • The Healthcare Scholarship Award will be offered annually for $2000 per semester for 2 to 4 years, depending on the course of study as long as the student meets requirements.


      Application Criteria:

      1. Graduating Princeton High School seniors AND graduates within 2 years of the date of the award will be eligible for the scholarship.
      2. Is a full time student in an accredited healthcare related program/course of study
      3. Minimum 2.75 GPA after first 2 semesters; Minimum 3.0 GPA the following years
      4. Submit proof of registration to scholarship committee prior to the beginning of each semester
      5. Programs eligible include, but are not limited to:
        • Nursing (RN or ADN), Medical Biller and Coder, Dental Assistant, Phlebotomy, Pharmacy Technician, Nursing Assistant, Medical Transcriptionist, Health Information Technician, Medical Assistant, Medical Secretary, Laboratory Technician, Patient Care Technician, Diagnostic Sonographer, Radiologic Technician, Human Services, Occupational Therapy.
    • Velma & Hugh Morrison Education Scholarship 
    • The Velma & Hugh Morrison Scholarship offers one $8,000 scholarship payable $1,000 per semester for four years.

      Considerations: Grade point average, school activities, community service, and character.

      Application Criteria:

      1. Graduating Princeton High School senior
      2. Must be enrolling in an Illinois college or university majoring in K-12 education.
      3. The scholarship winner must maintain a B grade point average and be enrolled in at least 12 semester hours.
    • Princeton Public Schools Foundation First Generation College Student Scholarship 
    • The PPSF First Generation College Student Scholarship will be offered annually for $2000 per semester for 4 years, as long as the student meets requirements.

      The term ‘‘first-generation college student’’ means

      1. An individual both of whose parents did not complete a baccalaureate degree; OR
      2. In the case of any individual who regularly resided with and received support from only one parent, an individual whose only such parent did not complete a baccalaureate degree.

      Application Criteria:

      1. Graduating Princeton High School senior
      2. Will be a full-time student in an accredited 2 or 4-year college/university
      3. Must be a first generation college student.
      4. Minimum 2.75 GPA after first 2 semesters; Minimum 3.0 GPA the following years
      5. Submit proof of registration to scholarship committee prior to the beginning of each semester
    • PPSF Alumni Award 
    • All graduates of Princeton High School who are enrolled in a Master’s degree program at an accredited college/university are eligible to apply for this $2,000 award.

      Application Criteria:

      1. Must have graduated in good standing from Princeton High School
      2. Must be enrolled as a full time student in a master’s program within two years of receiving undergraduate degree (within 6 years of PHS graduation)
      3. Provide transcript including your last completed college semester with application
      4. Maintain good academic standing during program
      5. May be applied for twice within 3 years - preference given to newly qualified applicants
      6. A maximum of 5 will be awarded each year
    • PPSF IVCC Continuing Education Award 
    • All graduates of Princeton High School who enroll in Illinois Valley Community College within one year of graduation from PHS and fulfill the qualifications will be granted an award for $750 for up to 3 consecutive semesters (does not include summer sessions) towards an Associate’s degree or Certificate program.

      Application Criteria:

      1. Must be enrolled as a full time student at IVCC (minimum 12 credit hours per semester)
      2. Graduated from Princeton High School in good academic and disciplinary standing
      3. Maintained 3.0 cumulative grade point average upon graduation from PHS, which occurred within one year of this application. Verification to be made by the PHS Student Support Office.
      4. Participated in at least one extracurricular activity during each year of high school. This may be a combination of PHS and community activities.
      5. Provide a typed description of the circumstances of the delay in enrolling at IVCC.
      6. Complete and submit printed verification of filing for FAFSA for current award year
    • PPSF IVCC Summer Education Award 
    • All graduates of Princeton High School who are enrolled at an accredited college/university are eligible to apply for a summer education award of $250 for summer classes at Illinois Valley Community College.

      Application Criteria:

      1. Have graduated from Princeton High School no less than one year prior to application (may apply for up to three consecutive summers beginning college sophomore year)
      2. Must be enrolled as a full time summer student (minimum 6 hours)
      3. Minimum 3.0 GPA during the summer term at IVCC
      4. Submit summer transcript and final registration receipt for reimbursement
