  • NOTE: Horse must be registered by a current RIDER, FAMILY, or SUPPORTING TEAM MEMBER. Horse must be registered with TEAM in order for competitors to be eligible for 'rider' points and for horse to be eligible for 'horse' points toward year-end awards. 'Horse' year end awards will be presented to the person listed below.

  • INDEMNIFICATION AND RELEASE OF LIABILITY FOR TEAM EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES

  • I, the undersigned, agree that my entry at The Eventing Association of Michigan ("TEAM") competition shall constitute an agreement and affirmation that all participants (which include without limitation, the owner, lessee, trainer, manager, agent, coach, driver, rider, handler, and the horse), for themselves, their principles, representatives, employees, and agents: (1) Shall be subject to any and all rules of the competition; (2) Agree that they participate voluntarily in the competition fully aware that horse sports and this competition involve inherent dangerous risk of serious injury or death, and by participating they expressly assume any and all risks of injury or loss, and they agree to indemnify and hold harmless the TEAM, any and all property owners on which said competitions may be held, their officials, directors, owners, members, employees, agents, successors or assigns, from and against any and all claims. including for any injury or loss suffered during or in connection with these competitions, whether or not such claim, injury, or loss resulted, directly or indirectly, from the negligent acts of the TEAM, and any and all property owners on which said competitions may be held. I further agree that if any damage shall be occasioned or loss occur, by fire or otherwise, to the horses exhibited, or to any vehicle or other article that I may send with such horses, that I will make no claim therefore; and I further agree to release and hold harmless the TEAM, and any and all property owners on which said competitions may occur, from any claim or demand of whatsoever kind or nature, that may be occasioned by the horse or horses exhibited by me, or the negligence of the person in charge of such horse, and to repay the TEAM, and any and all property owners on which said competitions may be held, on demand, all damages it may sustain by any reason of any claim or demand aforesaid. This release shall be binding each time the undersigned practices for or participating directly or indirectly in events organized or sanctioned by the TEAM or on property leased by TEAM or property on which TEAM has access rights (legally or otherwise), on the distributes, heirs, next of kin, executors, administrators, and personal representatives of the undersigned. In signing the foregoing release, the undersigned hereby acknowledges and represents that: (A) He/she has read the foregoing indemnification and release ofliability, understands it, and signs it voluntarily; (B) Is at or over eighteen (18) years of age and of sound mind; (C) Is not suffering from shock or under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or intoxicants.

  • HONEY RUN FARMS (ANN ARBOR, MICHIGAN 48103) RELEASE AND HOLD HARMLESS AGREEMENT

  • WHEREAS, the UNDERSIGNED acknowledges the inherent risks involved in riding and working around horses, which risks include bodily injury from using, riding or being in close proximity to horses, among other risks, and further that both horse and rider can be injured in normal use or in competition and schooling: IN CONSIDERATION for the privilege of riding and using Honey Run Farm Equestrian Easement property and roads, the Undersigned agrees to hold harmless and indemnify Honey Run Farms Association, its members, all Honey Run Farm property owners and agents. The Undersigned further agrees to release Honey Run Farms property owners and agents from any liability or responsibility for accident, damage, injury, or illness to the Undersigned or any horse owned by the Undersigned or to any family member or spectator accompanying the Undersigned. FURTHER, the Undersigned agrees to wear ASTM/SEI approved protective head gear with harness attached at all times when mounted. The Undersigned also agrees to wear a body-protecting vest when jumping on Honey Run Farm's property, as well as a medical card armband.

    Under the Michigan Equine Activity Liability Act (1994 P.A. 351), an equine professional is not liable for an injury to or the death of a participant in an equine activity resulting from an inherent risk of the equine activity. It is mutually understood that the liability release contained in this agreement shall constitute a waiver of liability for an injury to or death of an equine activity participant beyond the provisions of the Michigan Equine Activity Act, 1994.
