The Learn-to-Swim Level 1 program follows the American Red Cross Learn-to-Swim curriculum and is designed for participants who are new to swimming or just beginning to develop comfort and confidence in the water. This course emphasizes basic water safety, fundamental swimming movements, and building trust in aquatic environments.

Upon successful completion, participants will be able to:

    • Enter and exit the water safely and independently.
    • Submerge the face and exhale underwater (blowing bubbles).
    • Practice bobbing and safely return to the surface.
    • Float on front and back with support, and recover to a standing position.
    • Demonstrate basic arm and leg actions for front and back movement with assistance.
    • Explore combined arm and leg actions on front and back with support.
    • Develop confidence through water safety and beginner swimming skills.
