Proof Alliance is offering a training session for all EVOLVE families. All are welcome, including current, past, and anyone interested. “Navigating FASD: Empowering Foster Providers” is a one-hour session designed to help foster parents meet their yearly FASD training requirement for license renewal.
In this training, we will:
- Discuss the impact of FASD on brain function and behavior.
- Define fundamental characteristics of FASD.
- Share real-life examples from caregivers.
- Introduce various FASD-informed support resources and provide guidance on how to access and use them.
By the end of the session, participants will have a comprehensive understanding of FASD, effective support strategies, and valuable resources. This training aims to equip foster parents with the tools and confidence to positively impact the lives of children with FASD.
The trainer for this session is Teresa Kothbauer who is a member of the Proof Alliance Certified Trainers (PACT). She has been involved with Proof Alliance since her son was diagnosed with an FASD at the Proof Alliance Diagnostic Clinic in 2014. Since then, she has developed an extensive understanding of FASD through attending conferences and FASD training, and parenting a child with an FASD.
This training will take place on January 21st from 12-1 PM, with additional dates to be announced.
