Tips on how to take a proper healed photo:
- Do it in daylight: overcast or cloudy is ideal. This avoids any harsh contrast between shadows and light; which makes it difficult to see details and colour (especially). Having an even lighting across the tattoo will help capture the tattoo naturally. Avoid any hyper-orange lighting.
- Against a white background (ideally): especially taking photos with a smartphone having a white background will help the auto-corrector in the camera's feature neutralise, avoiding any weird colour correction.
- (If you can) Ask someone to take the photo for you: taking a photo straight-on without angling helps see the tattoo better.
- Get close-ups: Especially to help see fine-line detail work.
