Volunteer Background Check - Minor
A background check is required for everyone over 13 years old volunteering with CEF, including any adults in the household if the club is held at a home and those who may be helping though they may not have direct contact with the children. To protect your privacy, CEF of WI requires you to grant us permission to run a Background check. The background check needs to be rerun every 5 years.
Following are some important considerations for all who will volunteer and have direct contact with the children through CEF ministries.
Minors are required to agree with all policies, and in lieu of a background check are required to provide contact information for four individuals, who are not family members. One of the references needs to be from a pastor, youth leader, or someone familiar with the Christian walk. The other three can be acquaintances.
All approved workers receive a required nametag upon completion of steps 1-3.
You will be redirected to a secure site to complete the screening process.
There are three steps required for volunteer participation:
STEP 1: PRIOR to COMPLETING THE ONLINE BACKGROUND CHECK APPLICATION.
Complete the following:
For New Volunteers - Gather the information to enter online:
- Birth Date
- Your salvation testimony.
- Reference contact information (name, phone, email) for four people.
This should include at least one pastor or church leader. No relatives please.
- Previous addresses (last 5 years)
STEP 2 - ENTER THE INFORMATION on the next page
STEP 3: ID CHECK AND INTERVIEW for the New Volunteer
This final step will be completed by your CEF team leader prior to serving.
You will be required to show a photo ID (driver's license, passport, or school ID) and answer a few interview questions.
Once all steps are completed, you will receive your nametag, indicating that you are a screened volunteer.
