Eligibility
Complimentary press registration to ASA’s Annual Meeting is provided to qualified reporters who are employees of or freelancers on assignment to locally, nationally, or internationally-recognized print, broadcast, or online media outlets with a demonstrated history of reporting on relevant issues. We encourage reporters to register by August 4, 2023.
As part of the registration, journalists will be asked to provide contact information and information about the media outlet for which the individual is covering the Annual Meeting. Journalists will also be required to indicate in writing that they have read and agree to the conditions of press coverage for the Annual Meeting. ASA reserves the right to refuse press registration to any individual.
In order for us to register journalists as press attending the 2023 Annual Meeting, journalists will need to submit this form with their credentials. Acceptable credentials include an official press badge, a business card from a news media outlet, or an original copy of a masthead with the journalist’s name on it. Freelance journalists should provide a letter of assignment from a media organization or, if they intend to submit articles to media outlets for consideration after the meeting, clips of previous stories that have been published or aired on topics germane to sociology or the ASA.
Covid-19 Protocol
All Annual Meeting attendees will be required to follow any COVID 19-related protocols mandated by local authorities at the time of the meeting. ASA strongly recommends that attendees receive COVID 19 vaccination in advance of participation and use masks while we are together in Philadelphia. As you navigate the meeting space, please do your best to help protect all of our colleagues. ASA may choose to enact stricter protocols should they be warranted by public health circumstances closer to the meeting time.
