  • Preface

    Scholarship Recommendation Letter

    A letter of recommendation is a document in which the writer assesses the qualities, characteristics, and capabilities of the person being recommended in terms of that individual's ability to perform a particular task or function. They are typically related to employment, admission to post secondary, or scholarship eligibility and can be written by a supervisor/colleague/ teacher/professor/boss/mentor. The letters are usually specifically requested for a precise event and are therefore addressed to a requester.  

    • Must be current and dated 
    • Must be signed and if applicable on letterhead
    • Not exceed 2 pages
    • Cannot be from your immediate family or anyone living in the same household.

    Mature Student

    A mature student is defined as a student who is 18 years or older and has not attended a post-secondary institution for at least 1 year and is enrolled or planning to register in the fall for a full-time program. 

    Continuing Education

    A mature student that is returning from employment to continue their education in a certified college/university program to finish their diploma or pursuing an additional degree (professional and graduate programs). 

    Extending School

    A student who is continuing their education through post-secondary learning activities and programs, A person who has completed their undergrad and interested in pursuing a graduate degree right afterwards. Name and dates of employment

    Document Requirements

    PDF is preferred however we also accept pdf, doc, docx, html, zip which cannot exceed 2048 KB. All submitted documents must be clear and ledgable. 
  • Science, Technology and Skilled Trades

    Science is the intellectual and practical activity encompassing the methodical study of the structure and behaviour of the physical and natural world through observation and experiment.

    Examples of Science fields but are not exhaustive:
    • Chiropractor
    • Dentist
    • Lawyer
    • Medical Laboratory Technologist
    • Occupational Therapist
    • Optometrist
    • Pharmacist
    • Physician
    • Physical Therapist
    • Registered Nurse
    • Respiratory Therapist

    Technology is defined as the application of scientific knowledge for practical purposes, especially in industry . Sometimes applying scientific knowledge means using less of what we traditionally think of as technology.

    Examples of Technology fields but is not limited to :

    • Data Scientist
    • Software Developer
    • Information Security Analyst
    • Computer Systems Analyst
    • Web Developer
    • Sales Engineer
    • Computer Research Scientist
    • Information Technology Manager
     
    Skilled trades is a career path that requires hands-on work and specialty knowledge. Ther is 4 main categories that are encompassed.

    Career choices in each catagory but are not all inclusive:
