Would you like to nominate someone for a Community Award?

The Chamber will present awards in the categories listed below at our upcoming banquet. We are looking for individuals and member businesses from the community that meet the following criteria. The selection committee will consider the following criteria when reviewing nominations.

Criteria for Outstanding Youth Achievement Award:

1. A youth organization or person(s) that has gone above and beyond in the Giddings Community deserving recognition for their contributions of service, hard work and dedication to our community.

Criteria for Outstanding Civic Organization of the Year

1. The organization is made up of volunteers and staff that work for the benefit of the community.
2. The organization serves or protects a particular demographic group such as children, senior citizens, the disabled or the disadvantaged.
3. The work of the organization has had a positive impact on the community over the past year.

Criteria for Outstanding Business of the Year

1. This Chamber member business participates in multiple ways on multiple levels in the community, making lasting contributions to the growth and well-being of the community.
2. This business has displayed evidence of the highest professional and business standards.
3. This business leads the charge in setting an example for others to follow, both personally and professionally.
4. This business is locally owned and operated.

Criteria for Life-Time Achievement Award

1. Resident Senior Citizen for 10 years or more in the Giddings Community.
2. Make lasting contributions to the community over an extended period of time.
3. Exhibit the highest moral and ethical standard that causes one to be a role model.

Criteria for Outstanding Citizen of the Year

1. Exercise leadership by example and result.
2. Participate in the area-wide community, instead of just a single segment or project.
3. Display tireless dedication of one’s time and treasure, not only to the community, but also, to his family and the disadvantaged.
4. Exhibit the highest moral and ethical standard that causes one to be a role model who can be admired.
5. Display evidence of the highest professional and business standards.
6. Make lasting contributions to the growth and well-being of the community.

Criteria for Outstanding Community Volunteer of the Year

1. Make lasting contributions to the community over an extended period of time.
2. Participate in the area-wide community.
3. Donates time or treasure tirelessly to local or area non-profit organizations.
