  • Thank you for your interest. Our field trip schedules will be available as soon as it is considered to be safe to travel. For reservation of your slot, please sign up on the interest form below and we will inform you as soon as possible once we have updates.

    Please review our program and pricing information below before proceeding. 

    Discovery Labs (M, Thu, Fri) - students come to the Aquarium & complete a hands-on lesson:

    One 45 minute program per class of 30 (max) students: $15/student

    Two 45 minute programs per class of 30 (max) students: $22/student

    Tidepools on Tour (W, Sat) - Aquarium staff visit your school or event space:

    60 minute program (30 min sessions per ~30 students is recommended): $500*

    90 minute program (30 min sessions per ~30 students is recommended): $550*

    120 minute program (30 min session per ~30 students is recommended): $600*

    Each additional 30 minutes: $50 per session

    *plus mileage fees to and from the program site

    Floating Lab (Tue) - students board a boat and explore coastal ecology in Avila Bay:

    Single 120 minute program (for a class of 30 (max) students): $1,250

    Double 120 minute program (for two classes of 30 (max) students to take turns on the boat): $2,500

    Marine Life Monitoring Program (M,Thu,Fri) - students conduct a coastal field survey:

    120 minute program for a class of 30 (max) students: $700

              $15 per student. Please select the student quantity. A minimum of 15 students or a $225 minimum are required to register. If more than 30 students are attending, we will schedule class rotations through the lab.

              $22 per student. Please select the student quantity. A minimum of 15 students or a $330 minimum are required to register. If more than 30 students are attending, we will schedule class rotations throughout each of the labs.

              Discovery Lab Chaperone Fee

              We allow a courtesy of 5 free chaperones per class of 30 students. Please indicate how many additional chaperones will be attending at a rate of $5 each (if applicable).

            • Program Scholarships

              The Central Coast Aquarium strives to offer scholarship assistance to schools seeking financial support.

              Through the generous support of local grants and private community donors, scholarship funds are awarded to schools on a first-come, first-served basis, as they are available. Schools with Title I status will be given priority when receiving scholarships.

              If you would like to apply for a scholarship please indicate so below. A staff member will follow up with you regarding your application and availability of funds to support your field trip.
