    The Principal Investigator (PI) completes and submits this form as part of the REB application process.

    Once submitted, the Georgian College Research Ethics Board (GCREB) will route the form to obtain any required approvals/signatures.

  • How this form is used

    This form is used to obtain institutional permissions.

  • Once submitted:

    • Required institutional permissions will be determined based on the nature of the research.
    • The form will be routed to the appropriate individuals and departments for review and approval.
    • Signatures/approvals will be collected on behalf of the Principal Investigator (PI).
    • If REB approval is required, REB will notify applicant that RPARR is fully executed and REB application can now be reviewed (fully executed RPARR is required before REB review can commence).
  • Depending on the project, the following areas may be consulted:

    • Institutional Research
      • To ensure there is no conflict with institutional research in progress and to assess institutional risk.
    • Approving Manager(s) / Associate Dean / AVP
      • To confirm access to departmental resources, including participants, data, or spaces. All recruitment materials will be reviewed as part of this process.
    • Director of Research & Innovation
      • If recruitment involves an email distribution list, emails will be distributed on behalf of the PI to protect the privacy of potential participants. Approving manager will provide email distribution list to Research & Innovation for dissemination. Recruitment can only begin after REB approval is granted.
