    12-Week Intensive Grant Writing Program

    This 12-week intensive course is right for you if you are:

    • A founder of an organization looking to learn the skills to pursue grants
    • A mission-driven organization not quite ready to hire an in-house grant writer or commit to a full-time consultant;
    • An existing staff writer wanting to improve their grant writing and win more grants
    • An emerging freelancer or grant consultant looking to level up your skills; or,
    • A current or recently graduated university student exploring a career in grants.
       

    Cost:

    $3,000 per participant

    • $500 off if paid in full by June 1st, 2026 or pay in 3 equal installments (June 1st, July 1st, Aug 1st)
    • $500 off for a second participant from the same organization
    • 25% discount for active GEMS users

     

    Time Commitment:

    • 8-10 hours weekly
    • 1 structured lesson weekly via zoom
    • Individualized assignments curated to support you in growing grant revenues 
    • Coaching from experienced grant professionals
    • All virtual

    This course is the only one you will need to understand grant writing, management, funder research, budgeting, and more. You’ll get expert guidance, tools, and support to sharpen your skills, strengthen your strategy, and WIN MORE GRANTS!

     

    GDS Internship

     

    Our 12-week internship program is right for you if you are:

    • Current university students
    • Recent graduates of aligned degree programs
    • Emerging grant professionals pursuing an apprenticeship path
    • Have completed or are currently enrolled in SGI/GDS Bootcamp
    • SGI participants or alumni looking to put their training into practice as a GDS 

    Summer Intern can apply here. GDS Interns gain real world experience in many facets of the grants profession, including direct client work, as well as systems, SOPs, and skills to build a grants portfolio or build your business.

     

    Time Commitment:

    • 10-15 hours weekly
    • 1 structured lesson weekly via zoom
    • Individualized assignments curated to respond to your interests/career goals
    • Coaching from experienced grant professionals
    • All virtual


    There is no cost to participate in the GDS Internship.
    Open only to current SGI participants, SGI graduates, or GDS boot camp alumni. 

     

    Apprenticeship


    Interns that excel during the program will be offered an apprenticeship position which will run from October 1, 2026 through January 15th, 2027. 

    Expected time commitment - 15-25 hours/week.


    Apprentices earn $17 - $20/hour and receive a sign-on bonus of up to $3,000.

    We offer two exciting opportunities this summer: our 12-Week Intensive Grant Writing Program and our Internship & Apprenticeship Program. Your responses will help us determine which application best fits your goals and experience.

    • The 12-Week Intensive is ideal for mission-driven organizations, emerging freelancers, and university students or recent graduates ready to build strong grant writing skills.
    • The Internship & Apprenticeship is designed for current university students, recent graduates, or emerging grant professionals who can commit at least 20 hours per week and are interested in hands-on training—with the potential for a paid apprenticeship after six weeks.

  • Internship Application General Requirements:


    Educational Background

    • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., English, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Nonprofit Management) or equivalent related experience.


    Communication Skills

    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability give and receive feedback.


    Self-Management

    • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Ability to meet deadlines consistently without direct supervision.
    • Ability to multitask and work under deadlines.

     

    Technical Requirements

    • Access to a stable internet connection and a reliable computer.
    • Proficiency with Google Docs and/or Microsoft Word.
    • A basic understanding of other online collaboration tools is a plus.
