Summary of the call
The Office of Vice-Provost (Research, Innovation, Global Engagement) at University College London (UCL) and Korea University (KU) are contributing matching funds to support education and research initiatives through a joint call for proposals for the development of collaborative activities.
This call invites proposals for partnership development activity in areas of mutual interest and complementary strength that will deepen research and education collaboration between UCL and KU.
Applications from all fields are eligible but proposals in the following areas are particularly encouraged as they reflect shared priorities of the two universities and align with Pillar 2 of Horizon Europe:
1) Health
2) Creative Industries, including areas relating to Media and Technology
3) Quantum, AI, Advanced Materials
4) Climate, Energy and Mobility

How to apply
1) Please read the guidelines carefully and use the application form to prepare a proposal. The guidelines and an application form template can also be downloaded from the fudnging page
2) A proposal must be co-developed by UCL and KU researchers.
3) UCL lead applicants are invited to submit their proposals on behalf of their project team via this application portal. Please submite only one proposal for the project through this page.
4) A brief summary of the principal participants (from UCL and KU) and the summary project details are required.
5) The finalised application form in PDF format should be uploaded via this portal in Section 3.
6) Applications will be assessed by a combined UCL - KU panel.
7) For UCL staff, successful recipients will receive funds using the internal transfer process known as 'Inter-Deparmtental Transfer' (IDT). UCL Global Engagement will request the name of your depramtnet financial administrator for this transfer in the award notification email.

Decisions communicated to applicants on or before: 31st July 2026.
