Junior Personal Development Grant

To assist with costs associated for a person aged 8-15 to attend an education-based seminar, course, or activity of their choice.

The successful applicant (1 per year) will receive up to $1000

The successful applicant will be chosen by a Selection Committee

What you will need to submit with this application:

1) Details about the educationally-based seminar, course or activity you wish to attend

This will include details such as an outline of expected costs (including travel), course dates, the organisation or group putting it on, entry requirements, content of the activity, what format (online, in person, any travel requirements) and expected achievements. Could also include duration, assessment criteria. Note: It is not required to know all the exact details of your desired course or activity in order to submit an application.

2) One (1) piece of work/presentation based on ‘Why I would like to attend ___________ [the chosen educationally-based seminar, course, or activity]’

Please include the educational value of this seminar/course/activity

and what sorts of things you expect to learn from it.

   a. May be: hand written, typed, video, PowerPoint (or equivalent), or audio formats.

   b. Limits:

• Up to 1000 words for all written applications,
• OR up to 5 minutes of audio/video,
• OR up to 20-slide PowerPoint or equivalent

The following pages will determine your eligiblity to apply for the grant.

The Alice Springs Branch ICPA Grants are a great opportunity for your child to gain confidence in being part of a system and a community.

The process of applying for a grant promotes development of life skills such as filling out forms, planning and scheduling, computer and multimedia skills, and financial planning.

It also gives opportunity to grow through possible life lessons such as reward for hard work, finding resources to accomplish one's own goals, coping with disappointment, seeing the bigger picture of someone else in the community being helped even if they aren't, and not giving up.

It is a good idea to talk with your student about the possiblity of them not receiving the grant and help them prepare for disappointment and work out backup plans.
