What Are Buzz Bucks?
Buzz Bucks are credits Girl Scouts earn through product programs that they can use for camp, activities, and travel.
How Buzz Bucks Are Earned
Girls earn Buzz Bucks by participating in the Cookie Program and Fall Product Program.
Juliette Girl Scouts earn Buzz Bucks instead of troop proceeds, while traditional Girl Scouts can earn them as rewards in the Cookie Program.
How Buzz Bucks Can Be Used
Buzz Bucks may be redeemed for:
- Girl Scout camp
- Girl Scout programs and events
- Membership registration
- Girl Scout merchandise (in council retail stores only)
- Approved Girl Scout travel
Expiration and Redemption Rules
Buzz Bucks expire each year on December 15 and can’t be carried over. They must be used for activities happening in the same calendar year they’re earned.
For example, Buzz Bucks earned in 2026 must be used for 2026 camps, programs, or travel taking place in 2026.
International Travel Exception
For approved international Girl Scout travel, Buzz Bucks may be extended one additional year, expiring December 15 of the following year.
Important Notes
- Buzz Bucks are non-transferable between Girl Scouts
- Buzz Bucks cannot be exchanged for cash
- It is the responsibility of the Caregiver/Girl to redeem Buzz Bucks before they expire
- Unused Buzz Bucks expire on December 15 and cannot be reinstated.
